Tor
Octavia is a fortified city in the realm of Cothique, halfway between the realms of Chrace and Yvresse. It is a
naval city, with many soldiers in its citizen levy. This is due to the constant raids of Dark Elf and Norse pirates that patrol
the seas around Ulthuan.
The warden of the city, Carlos Octavian, known to his enemies as the Dragon Lord, has watched
these lands for the past 200 years. He is a mighty warrior and a wise leader. He resides in the city with his bride, Celest,
brother Tritious, twin sons Pender and Alis, and daughter Cyndel. He is a veteran of many wars, including the battle of Funival
Plain and the Wars on Albion,
where he brought back many artifacts to Cothique.
Prince Carlos Octavian, Lord of
Tor Octavia:
Prince Carlos
Octavian is the ruler of Tor Octavia and all its surrounding regions in Cothique. He is one of the last of the true Dragon
Princes, second only to Prince Irmik in power over the ancient drakes. He has traveled all over the world and his adventures
with the wood elf prince, Tony Z, are already the stuff of legend. Many scholars dismiss the claims that Octavian and Z have
fought in many of thier epic 'tales' such as thier battles against the four greater deamons of Chaos and even their confrontation
with Great Necromancer, Nagash, himself. If these tales were true, they argue, it would rank Octavian and Z amongst the
most powerful lords in the world today, and such notions are laughable at best...
Lord Octavian
has lived a very adventurous life. Born as the first son in a doomed family from Caledor, Octavian was a mighty dragon
rider who commanded legions of Dragon Princes into battle.
His life
changed, however when his best friend Xavier Salvation betrayed him and his kind to become a member of the Cult of Pleasure.
Xavier blasted his noble drake, Serpentar, with a blast of evil that destroyed its body. The blast would have surely slain
Octavian as well, if was it not for the fact that he was thrown from his mount and fell to the ground.
He awoke
to find himself in the forested country of Cothique in a village called Pendragnus. It was there that he was healed by
his future wife Celest Pendragon and brother Pavonious. He eventually sold his lands in Caledor used his wealth from to turn
Pendragus to a prosperous city. Renamed Tor Octavia, it is now one of Ulthuan's busiest ports.
In battle,
Lord Octavian fights on his steed, Valhalla, or in times of dire need, he can call upon the ancient Star Dragon, Malificent, and fight
as the Dragon Lord. In battle, he wields the Silver Sword of Caledor, the ancient weapon of his bloodline. On his head, he
wears the Helm of the Dragon Master, the symbol of his command of the powerful creatures. He also carries the Armor of Defiance,
a suit of Sea Gold and icon of his rulership of Tor Octavia.
The Octavian Family
Lord Octavian is usually accompianied by some, if not all, of his bloodline to battle. They are all mighty heroes in
thier own right, however, combined they are a force to be reckoned with for sure.
Lady Celest Octavian, Defiant Queen
of Tor Octavia
The former
warden of the city of Pendragus, Celest is the eldest child of the late Lord Mentheous Pendragon. She was the one
who found Carlos Octavian after his battle with Xavier. He used her magic to heal him and during that time she fell in love
with him and they were married. She has trained with the Loremasters of Hoeth and also studied in the court of the Everqueen.
She currently
plays the role of advisor and handles the day to day running of the city of Tor Octavia,
but she can wield terrible magical forces in times of war. She earned her title of the “Defiant Queen” for her
notorious stubbornness and determination on the battlefield. She carries the Scepter of Cothique, a symbol of her status as
supreme judge in Tor Octavia. She also wears Folariath’s Robe, an artifact she earned during her time in Saphery.
Pender Octavian, Chief of Defense
Pender is the eldest son
of Carlos and Celest. He has the title of Chief of Defense, a job he takes very seriously. He is known to be very rash and
reckless, unlike his twin brother who is more rational. He is also well known for his magical rifle he carries. He acquired
this weapon from a notorious pirate in a duel at the port. He also carries the ancient armor depicting his linage to Caledor
and his father’s ancient battle shield and wields a huge battlesword.
Alis Octavian, Commander of Naval
Forces
Alis is the twin brother of Pender and the commander of all Octavia’s naval forces. This is quite an honor as
Alis is easily the youngest of all Ulthuan’s naval admirals. Rational, level-headed and logical, Alis is wholly opposite
his brother, who is very reckless. Like his brother, Alis wears the ancient Caledorian armor, shield and wields a massive
great axe. He uses an ancient bow given to him by his uncle and a war mask that grants him the ability to move through the
seas swiftly on foot.
Saint Cyndel Octavian, High Priestess
of Tor Octavia
Cyndel is young, in elven terms, a mere 150 years
old, but she is already a legend amongst the realm of Cothique. During the second invasion of Xavier the Betrayer, the Tzeentchian
lord Lucifer Spawnlord dominated the battle with his ancient sorcery, Even Celest, a powerful mage in her own right, could
not suppress the onslaught the Lucifer brought forth. Just when the battle seemed lost, Cyndel and her host of maiden spearwomen
entered the combat. She sacrificed half her magical abilities and nearly her life to summon a mini vortex of magic that engulfed
Lucifer, draining him and his weapons of all their magical power. Ever since that day, she has been known as a living saint
in Tor Octavia. In battle she wields the Silver Wand, which gives her back some of magical power she lost long ago and wears
and ancient cloak enchanted by the loremasters of Hoeth that protects her from arcane harm.
Tritious Octavian, Dragon Master
of Tor Octavia
Tritious is the younger brother of Carlos Octavian.
He is charged with the most sacred duty in all of Cothique: the care of Malificent and Andromeda, the ancient dragons of the
house of Octavian. He is a mighty warrior and an adept mage, which makes him a fierce opponent. He wields a massive axe and
wears the ancient armour of his house and a shield.
The 4 Generals of Octavia:
Each General in Tor Octavia serves as the high authority of all matters of war for each of the seasons of the year.
During the months they aren’t in service, the remaining lords assume their normal positions in the court.
